Songs Out of Self-Isolation
As the world finds its footing amid social distancing policies, artists have begun to create music to fundraise for charitable causes, show their support, and help fans feel a little less alone. Here are a few songs out of self-isolation to keep you hopeful during these uncertain times.
Ariana and Justin joined forces to create this love ballad about staying in with the person you love. Their music video features the stars at home passing time with their partner and pets, but also features their fans across the world doing the same. All net proceeds from “Stuck with U” will be donated to First Responders Children’s Foundation.
This catchy song asks, “Would you be, my little quarantine?” The music video shows the band members mailing each other a USB (of their self-filmed music video footage) and behind-the-scenes footage of their partners helping them film it.
This “SelfieCamJam” was in support of Food Banks Canada. This melodic tune shares feelings we all can relate to such as, “I just wanna see my friends. I wanna walk the street again. But I gotta be patient. So let's enjoy this confination.” Their velvety smooth voices are sure to chill you out.
In this optimistic song, OneRepublic reminds the world to have hope that there will be better days. “Oh, I know that they’ll be better days. Oh, that sunshine bout to come my way.” Their music video also features fan submitted videos from quarantine.
Mr. Worldwide is here with an upbeat song and message that we will win! The song starts with, “You know what spreads faster than any virus? Is fear.” Like other artists, his music video used fan submitted footage.
Music with a message is a great way to bring the world a bit closer together. Which song out of self-isolation is your favourite?
