Fall in Love with These Fall Hairstyles
Fall is the perfect opportunity to switch up your look, starting from the top down. Here are ten hairstyles that will be hot this season, found on both models and celebrities alike.
Messy Waves and Brushed Out Curls
Tousled waves and curls, like in the header photo and image above, will be everywhere this season. Luckily, this look is totally low maintenance - simply brush out and texturize curly or wavy hair. Remember, go big or go home and frizz is your friend.
Architectural hair is the blueprint this season (see what we did there). We will see structural works of art in large top knots, braided top buns, and geometric-shaped afros.
Gel and hairspray are the tools needed to rock this slicked back, edgy look. Erase your part completely and sweep your hair backwards, while keeping your strands straight.
Long Braid
A single long plait is a statement to be reckoned with. Whip out some hair extensions to make it extra long, and maybe even decorate it with barrettes, hair pins, and jewels.
Tendrils
Frame your face with romantic, loose hanging tendrils. You can add them to almost any style (buns, ponies, updos) to create an elegant and casual impact. Note that they do not always need to be curled. A few straight pieces of hair framing the face will also get the job done nicely.
Dual Texture
Combine two of fall’s trends (slicked hair and texture) to create this visually interesting contrast. You can achieve this model’s look by creating a tight pony and pinning up the thick, braided tail.
If you were looking for an excuse to test out a bold color, then this season might be your time to shine. All-over hair color and colored streaks, roots, and tips are having major moments, with a special attention to bright colors and neons.
Statement headbands are back to add a sophisticated element to any look. Thick velvet headbands are definitely a yes, as well as extra embellished bands (think rhinestones, structural elements, and bold colors).
Baby braids first entered our radar this summer and are proving they are here to stay through fall. Add one to the side of your pony or place several all around the head while wearing your hair down.
It’s time to swap your scrunchies for chic, bouncy bows. You can’t go wrong with a simple black bow, but sheer fabrics, like organza, are also fashionable. Large and structured bows are also making their rounds.
