Our Favourite Looks from the 2020 Golden Globes Red Carpet

As a little girl, I often dreamed of dressing up in gorgeous gowns, putting on some hardcore high jewellery to prance off down a red carpet in the sexiest of high heels. Well let me just tell you that I haven’t stopped dreaming yet, and every year I live vicariously through Hollywood’s hottest celebrities, drooling over their outfits at various awards ceremonies. Here are some of my favourites from this year’s Golden Globe Awards.

Classic Black

From Naomi Watts in her shimmery Armani Prive gown to Jennifer Aniston in a wool dress from Dior Haute Couture and Rooney Mara in a lace number from Givenchy, These celebs prove that you can never go wrong with a classic black dress.

Bright Colours

On the flip side, it’s difficult to rock a solid bright colour, so props to these ladies for pulling it off. We love the bright yellow deep cut Fendi dress on Zoey Deutch, the powder-blue Armani Privé with a powerful slit on Renée Zellweger and Priyanka Chopra’s bubble gum pink off-shoulder Cristina Ottaviano gown.

Bold & Beautiful

There’s something to be said for statement dresses that don’t border on outrageous, because it’s a fine line. After her daring Versace runway walk last year, Jennifer Lopez pulled off another bold look at the Golden Globes in a Valentino Haute Couture gown, giving us the present of her presence with a huge gold and green bow. Charlize Theron went with an appealing custom-made one-shoulder Dior dress with an intricately designed corset.

Dreamy & Whimsical

Ever dreamed of floating down the red carpet looking like a butterfly with optical illusion-like wings? Joey King did exactly that in an Iris Van Herpen couture gown. Cate Blanchett’s Mary Katrontzou Grecian-inspired pleated column gown also fluttered like wings with its wide sleeves, giving us the ultimate illusion of flight.
